Theatre Archipelago was founded by Rhoma Spencer in 2004 after the workshop production of Mad Miss/Just Jazz at the rock paper sistahz festival in May 2004. Since its inception, the company has staged 4 productions, 2 workshops and 3 readings thus far. We are now in our seventh season.

In the summer of 2006 and 2007, we presented an ole mas band in the Toronto Carnival (Caribana); a first time feat for this type of street theatre presentation in the history of Caribana.

We see ourselves as a catalyst for the propagation of Caribbean Theatre in the Diaspora. To that end we have staged plays emanating out of Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba, Haiti and Dominica written by both Canadians and Caribbean playwrights at home and abroad.
